Foreign Minister Rana Calls on Indian Prime Minister Modi

Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, currently on an official visit to India, paid a courtesy call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi this evening. The meeting focused on various aspects of Nepal-India bilateral relations, as well as mutual interests and concerns, according to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Dr. Rana conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and handed over an invitation for Prime Minister Modi to make a State Visit to Nepal.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Rana held a bilateral meeting with India's Minister for External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar. The discussions centered on issues of bilateral interest and the relationship between Nepal and India.

Dr. Rana's visit to India, her first official visit since assuming office on July 15, came at the cordial invitation of Dr. Jaishankar. She is scheduled to return to Nepal on August 22.
